Matter, my new line is inspired by the law of conservation, "matter is neither created nor destroyed, it only transforms."
It all started during the pandemic. Like many other people, that time helped me connect with myself and with my past. That is how I returned to my history as a designer and began to explore my archive; I reviewed the notes in my journals and remembered my experience in fashion. This is how I returned to one of my most precious treasures, the fabrics that I have preserved over the years.
Like a magical fairy, who keeps her tricks and spell ingredients in a chest, that's how special those fabrics are to me.
With the idea of giving a second chance to those pieces with which I have such a powerful connection, I immersed myself intensely and passionately behind the sewing machine and began to mix fabrics and generate new creations.
Not only that, but to give even more love to each garment, I decided to give it my all and in addition to my treasured fabrics, I also started wearing clothes curated by myself and even some of my favorite clothes from my closet.
This new creation process led me to give a workshop with Singer, so I felt the right thing to do was share everything I knew about sustainable fashion.
After this I began to feel more hungry to investigate and experiment more with the technique of upcycling or creative recycling.
Each piece tells a particular story because I love to get into the details that I can express with each garment, which I want to have as much personality as possible.
That is why I feel that with a meticulous and almost artisanal work such as Materia, the result is like alchemy or magic.
They are garments designed and made with lots of love for you.
